Welcome to an arena of pure poetic energy and rhythm. An arena where spiritual tones meet driving beats to a journey into progressive house, trance, techno and trance break. Notice you are swimming in an arena of intense liquid electronic pulse and you realize you are in the world of DJ D:FUSE.
D:Fuse broke onto the Texas dance scene over nine years ago. At that time he was writing and performing industrial music under the name of Culture Industry. He soon turned his energies to full-time DJing – playing progressive music, which generated opening sets for area parties. His seamless mix of musical style caught the immediate attention from the crowds which soon lead to co-headlining Austin area parties.
During the Summer of 1997, D:Fuse created “Sunday Massive”, a three level underground event, featuring House and Trance spun by himself, alongside other local and National DJs. This became an solid Austin phenomenon, earning D:Fuse an enthusiastic and loyal following. Before long, D:FUSE would be featured as the only Texas DJ on the Caffeine Tour rave held at the Austin Music Hall, as well as tour dates with Uberzone and DJ Icey. On the fast track, promoters actively began booking him for headlining slots. D:Fuse pushed new musical limits as his vistas were widening.
With only two releases to his name, he caught the attention of Moonshine President, Steve Levy. On a short ride from the Austin airport, D:Fuse slipped Levy a mix tape. At the time, Moonshine was looking for an American DJ to re-launch the Psychotrance series and after listening to his mix tape, D:FUSE was the perfect fit. Not long after, Psychotrance 2000 and D:Fuse’s subsequent follow-up, Psychotrance 2001 was recorded and released.
On a chance meeting with Paul Oakenfold in San Francisco in late 1999 led to what is probably D:Fuse’s most career-defining moment to date. Oakey liked what he heard, so much so, that he chose D:Fuse for the opening slot on his 2000/2001 US Tour.
His latest release, “Progressive Mix Session 1.0” was inspired by his residency at San Francisco’s legendary Release night at 1015 Folsom. This is a set of twelve searing progressive tunes that culminate with one of his own studio tracks, “Bodyshock”, which will be released as a single by Moonshine. Ironically, this release ties in perfectly with the Spring dates of the Oakenfold/D:Fuse US tour.
D:Fuse’s philosophy is simple, “Music has saved my life and all I want to do is to pass my musical message to the public.” He goes on to say that “I’ve been handed some wonderful opportunities and experiences in my life through music, and I consider it a privilege to be able to give something back in return.”
