Company Line: As the stars of the top rated MTV reality series, “Making the Band,” the collective have become an instant hip-hop mainstay, capturing the hearts of the masses as the public watches them live out their career triumphs and tribulations weekly. These six individuals were chosen in July 2003 after battling over 40,000 wannabe’s to not only become the featured group on Making the Band, but also received a Bad Boy/Universal recording contract.
The Good:
“My Life” – Ness starts it off and is the only one worth listening to.
The Average:
“Tonight” – I’m not sure why the Diddy let Babs Bunny the rapper stay on, her style is dry and her rhymes are weak.
“Bad Boy This Bad Boy That” – Diddy finally lets the rappers get loose.
“Do You Know” f/Wyclef Jean – The only time Da Band has chemistry.
The Ugly:
“I Like Your Style” – Babs Bunny is no M.C. Her style is tired.
“What We Gonna Do” – “I want to bite your panty string.” Now there is a daring rhyme. Weak doesn’t describe the rhymes on this track.
“Why” – Weak rhymes continue to tire you out.
“Stick Up” – Eazy-E is rolling over in his grave.
Frankly: I thought P. Diddy was a better judge of talent. He should have dropped five of the members and stuck with Ness.
