Track #
1. Simply The Most Loved Lush melodies over a lovely rock track. 6/10
2. Heavy And Struck The trumpet that pushes you right into a great song. 7/10
3. Dumb Crush A nice slower song, but a little lethargic. 5/10
4. To The Floor The chorus is nice, but this is another track that just seems to be there, occupying space. 5/10
5. I Don’t Sleep, I Drink Pretty. I’m beginning to see a trend with the American Girls toward well-structured tracks. They seem more concerned with making these tracks sound pleasant than actually mixing it up. So many songs like this in a row really make your mind wander away from the music. 5/10
6. Across The Bar And Down The Hall Higgins seems to be struggling to hit the notes. Sounds tortured. 4/10
7. Blackest Grey The chorus is the climax. It’s pretty simple. Too bad it’s not unmistakable. 5/10
8. Unadvertised I tried so hard to love this track, but it really just made me sleepy. 4/10
9. Two Speeds Starts off really slow, but thankfully it builds some momentum. 5.5/10
10. In Static More and more of the same. 4.5/10
11. Paranoid 4/10
12. Evil The first track that sounds different from the rest. What a relief. 5/10
Unfortunately, this album has no truly memorable qualities. And even though the trumpet’s sound is refreshing, it occasionally gets annoying.
