FILE UNDER: Lots of laughs!
CORPORATE LINE: Ron White continues to headline theaters with his “Drunk In Public” tour across the United States. The tour was ranked in the top 50 tours in Pollstar Magazine of 2004. Ron taped a new One-Hour Special “You Can’t Fix Stupid” for Comedy Central at the Majestic Theater in Dallas, TX.
THE JOKE: Ron White is hilarious. This is the second album I’ve listened to from Ron White and it’s the second time he’s killed. White can take some menial every day thing and make it hilarious. There is no lull or moment when White isn’t on fire. Each bit is as funny as the last. The amazing thing is that you can’t repeat the joke and make it nearly as funny as White and his delivery.
White takes on Michael Jackson and gives a parenting tip “whether Michael Jackson is convicted or not convicted don’t let your kid go over to Michael f**king Jackson’s house.” And then he tells a hilarious story about doing a show at Ft. Polk, which has 40,000 troops, and a woman from the audience who yells “ ‘everyone of them is a bad f**k,’ ” White quips “it’s seems that after 39,000 times you’d go ‘maybe it’s me.’ ”
FRANKLY: Ron White’s delivery is great and it takes his delivery to make many of his jokes work to perfection. White’s glee at the mundane and interesting such as being able to get anything fixed from his wife’s breasts, to his vision, and hearing with all of today’s modern technology is great. Then White drops the line “you can’t fix stupid.” It’s White’s hilarious observations that make Ron White’s act worth every second.
