Mariah Carey to release “Angels Advocate” remixes

Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey has completed her 13th studio album, ANGELS ADVOCATE, a collection of newly remixed duets with some of her favorite artists, performing Mariah’s favorite songs from her #1 R&B album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (released September 2009). ANGELS ADVOCATE, on Island Records, will be available March 30 exclusively at Target stores nationwide, iTunes.com/target and Target.com.

In advance of the ANGELS ADVOCATE album release, two new Mariah Carey singles and videos will be released: “Up Out My Face” featuring Nicki Minaj has impacted at Urban and Rhythm radio formats and will be available for download Feb. 16 on iTunes.com/target. The video, co-directed by Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, is added on BET, MTV Jams and MTV Hits. “Angels Cry” featuring fellow Island Def Jam artist Ne-Yo has impacted at Urban A/C radio and will be available Feb. 23 for download on iTunes.com/target. The video, also co-directed by Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, is added on BET.

Both videos for “Up Out My Face” and “Angels Cry” can also be seen on #1 music network VEVO.com and both singles will be available on iTunes.com/target.

Mariah moves into the final two weeks of her 6-week, 17-city “Angels Advocate” Tour across North America – her first major tour since The “Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour” of August-October 2006. The opening act on the “Angels Cry” Tour is RydazNrtist, a new R&B group signed to Nick Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment. (Please see five remaining cities below.)

ANGELS ADVOCATE (and Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, featuring the RIAA Platinum single, “Obsessed”) follow up Mariah’s multi-platinum E=MC² (2008), and worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (2005). The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. Soundscan’s biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured “We Belong Together” (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and “Don’t Forget About Us,” Mariah’s 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley’s 17 #1’s.

Three years later, Mariah surpassed Elvis when “Touch My Body” (from E=MC²) became her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit. “Touch My Body” spent two weeks at the top, Mariah’s 78th and 79th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis’ long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated by Billboard. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles’ all-time high of 20 #1 hits. The success of E=MC² brought total sales of Mariah’s albums, singles and videos to more than 175 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.

“Angels Advocate” Tour continues Across United States & Canada, through the February 27 closing date at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
