Kristinia DeBarge carries on the tradition of her father James DeBarge, keyboardist and founding member of beloved Motown ’80s group DeBarge. Kristinia first began to make headlines in April, with the release of “Goodbye.” The track was quickly licensed by Nivea as the theme song for their spring and summer network tv campaign, with 15- and 30-second spots running through July. The video shoot in Los Angeles captured the song’s sexy fun feel, and the clip was added at MTV, FUSE, and The N (Nickelodeon’s 24-hour network for teens).

Kristinia, who has known Babyface since age 14, signed with Sodapop the day before she turned 19. “Goodbye” was co-produced by Babyface and The Pentagon. Babyface went on to write and produce many of the tracks on EXPOSED.
