Vallejo is interesting. You’ve got three brothers and three others along for the slow ride. Their sound is rock, nothing too heavy or too light. The title track, “Into The New”, is a decent introduction to the band.
“Someway” is a track we all can relate to as A.J. Vallejo sings, “Someway I’m gonna get out of here.” “La Familia” has nice percussion skipping throughout, but it’s not as stellar as “Modern Day Slave”, a song with too much unfilled potential. “Back In The Day” is another track offering little to grow from.
Vallejo has a lot to offer. I’m just not sure that’s enough to take to the bank on a national release. It’s not that Vallejo is all bad, but you could see bands any day of the week in a city near you who could stay with these guys note for note.
