Since her debut release, My Melody, the Queen had a baby, her third child, and spoke to high school students about violence and abuse. So then why is such a seemingly positive role model as Queen Pen releasing such an adult record as Conversation With Queen? No idea.
The first song that jumps out is “Pussy Ain’t For Free”. This is a mother with three kids. I understand it’s supposed to be a positive song in one form or another, but couldn’t it have been without all the swearing and vulgarity? “Ghetto Divorce” is honest and poignant until Miss Jones comes in with her question that ruins the mood.
The entire content of Conversations With Queen is vulgar. As an adult, it isn’t anything I haven’t heard before, but when you think about her new audience and her three children, just bleeping out the words isn’t enough. If Queen Pen wants to be a role model, then she has just taken three huge steps back.
