Jessie James takes another giant step into the spotlight this week as she is named an MTV Discover & Download Artist, giving millions of fans totally free, no-strings-attached access to the song for the first time. “Wanted” has sold more than 200,000 copies since its release 8 weeks ago and sets the stage for the August 11th arrival of her self-titled debut album, JESSIE JAMES.
Jessie James was seen by tens of thousands of Jonas Brothers concert-goers last month, when she was chosen to host six shows on the road, introducing each artist on the bill including support acts Honor Society and Jordin Sparks. Jessie also performed “Wanted” at every show, and met with fans at pre-show meet and greets. After being named AOL’s Video Of The Day on May 20th, iTunes picked up “Wanted” as Video Of The Week in early June, and over 200,000 fans downloaded the clip.
Jessie’s two-month high-profile Steve Madden Music campaign, which began June 1st, is in its final weeks, as the fashion giant’s retail network of 97 stores continues to promote Jessie through in-store signage and video play. Steve Madden’s impressive online presence – across www.stevemadden.com and www.stevemaddenmusic.com – is also being utilized to showcase photos and video content with Jessie and allow fans to purchase the single at the site. Previous artists featured in this promotion include Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
