On July 7th, 2009 Marcy Playground make their highly anticipated comeback with their fourth studio album “Leaving Wonderland…In A Fit Of Rage” and they are feeling the early love from radio programmers.

The week of June 15th Marcy Playground marked a promising beginning with a #5 most added honor in FMQB at the Triple A format. This early success with strong tracks like “Blackbird”, and at other formats with “Devil Woman”, “Star Baby” and “Good Times” is paving the way for a warm reception for this incredible collection of songs. Stations like KOHO in Levanworth, WA, WRRW in Virginia Beach, VA have brought “Blackbird” in at Medium rotation right off the bat. WRHV in Norfolk, VA, WFIT in Melbourne, FL and KZMV in Breckenridge, CO are straying from the norm and playing other tracks that they like best. As with these stations, everyone can find something they love within a Marcy Playground album – especially Leaving Wonderland…

A highly original and melodic modern rock band, Marcy Playground exploded onto the scene back in 1997 with the insanely irresistible hit single “Sex And Candy,” a song that notched [a then-record] fifteen consecutive weeks at number one on Billboard’s U.S. Modern Rock tracks chart and a self-titled debut album that went on to sell 1.7 million copies. Subsequent albums Shapeshifter (1999) and Marcy Playground 3 (”MP3”) (2004) showcased two periods of tremendous creative evolution for the group.

On their riveting and keenly-anticipated fourth album, Leaving Wonderland… in a fit of rage, Marcy Playground return to action in triumphant fashion. Armed with songs born of an intense and turbulent period in his life, Marcy Playground’s main man, singer/guitarist John Wozniak, has fashioned a record that digs deep, taking the listener on an exhilarating and satisfying emotional and musical rollercoaster ride. Its creator is justifiably proud of his accomplishment, stating “this is the most personal record I’ve ever made, and I think it’s the thing that will connect most with other people.”
