Sheryl Crow – C’Mon C’Mon

Sheryl Crow
Artist: Sheryl Crow
Title: C’Mon C’Mon
Label: A&M
Rating: 6.5/10

Sheryl Crow brings it like she always has.

Great:
“Steve McQueen” – Typically catchy, great rock ‘n’ roll. All the hooks are intact.
“Soak Up The Sun” – If you haven’t heard it you will. It’s the only real single on the album and by far the catchiest tune on the record. Try to get this one out of your head!
“Diamond Road” – This has all the ingredients that we’ve come to love from Crow. Great chorus that you could listen to a thousand times.
“Weather Channel” – About almost losing your place in your mind, somewhere between losing it and keeping it.

Okay:
“Safe And Sound” and “C’mon C’mon”- Lovely hook, but little else.
“It’s So Easy” – A duet with Don Henley that ends up being a bit cheesy.
“Over You” – See category title.
“Abilene” – Almost gets you hook, line and sinker.
“Hole In My Pocket” – Gives us one of the best lines on the album. “I got a hole in my pocket/ You give me love and I drop it/ I guess I threw it away”

Below:
“You’re An Original” – Lenny Kravitz isn’t going to save this from sure blandness.

Sheryl Crow took sometime to release this record, she might have needed a little more time. It doesn’t quite hold up to her previous releases. It is however better than most records you will find released today that are of the disposable pop-rock kind.
