Austin has become like a rock ‘n’ roll super power. There are great bands and artists coming out of there hand over fist. Color hopes to be another in a long line of great new acts emerging from Texas.
“Are You With Me?” has that element of youthful exuberance that not a lot of shoe gazers have been projecting in a long while. “Not The Same” and “What Good Is It” remind me of Aerosmith. I guess if you are going to shoot high, why not go for the bull’s eye? Color has their own flavor, and they don’t stick with one crayon, they’ve got a box full.
Color works out their rock dreams with Are You With Me? The album has a few tracks that lose their luster after a couple of listens, but they also have a few tracks that don’t quite sting you at first and then stay with you. Color offers something in a genre that has been stagnant for some time, even if it is paint by the numbers.
