Papa Roach to release Metamorphosis on March 24th and announce tour

Papa Roach will release their forthcoming fifth studio album, Metamorphosis on March 24th through DGC/Interscope Records. Co-Produced by Jay Baumgardner and Papa Roach with additional co-production by James Michael on six of the tracks, the new album conjures a vicious, vibrant intensity that is raw, relevant and ready to rock. The multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Northern California quartet is back with their album of the decade.

Papa Roach is Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar) and new member (ex-Unwritten Law’s) Tony Palermo (drums). Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, the band has toured the world and churned out Top 10 multi-format Billboard hits including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved,” three of those on the last release. There is no shortage of classic songs on Metamorphosis either. The album’s first radio single, “Lifeline,” combines an AC/DC-style fret run with an undeniable chorus.

Fans got their first taste of the new songs from the album during their live performances on Crüe Fest 2008 and with a free download of the viral video release for the song “Hollywood Whore” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duuUnO6kxGg) which the band released in November 2008 as a gift to long-time fans. The video has had more than a million views.

Metamorphosis captures Papa Roach’s incendiary live energy on record. The album engages a full-on rock n’ roll assault fueled by the band’s punky raw energy, catchy guitar riffs and irrefutable melodies. They have delivered the most entertaining album of their career; it’s the culmination of their devotion to performing live and always giving their fans what they want while staying true to themselves.

Leading up to album release, Papa Roach will embark on a national tour alongside Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Saving Abel, kicking off on January 28th in Salt Lake City. This follows a half year of non-stop touring in front of 700,000 people that included the main stage on Motley Crüe’s Crüe Fest and a recent autumn run with Staind and Seether.

“We bring it live,” says Shaddix. “When you come to one of our shows, it’s like the last tribal experience. Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out and bring our music to fans all over the world.”
