Cher still has life left in her career, listen I’m as surprised as the next person. After “Believe” cleaned up the top forty no one thought she could do it again. Well here she comes.
Get up and dance:
“Song For The Lonely” – is another “Believe”. It’s fast, its danceable and its disgustingly catchy.
“A Different Kind Of Love Song” – here again, I wish I could say I hate this.
Somewhere in the middle:
“The Music’s No Good Without You” – too much production too little Cher. Never thought I’d say that.
“Real Love” – tries to capture the feel of “Believe” too bad it can’t capture that same energy.
Sit this one out:
“Alive Again” – aimless.
“Rain, Rain” – overdone and sounds remarkably like Toni Braxton’s “Another Sad Love Song”.
“Body To Body, Heart To Heart” – Cher and Latin music just don’t mix.
Living Proof is an apt title for Cher’s latest album but there is a lot of good mixed with bad here. The first two tracks come off with that vigor of powerful youth past however as the album goes on it shows some cracks and gives you a feeling that Cher is completely out of her element.
