Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds have a lot to live up to after their amazing 1997 release, The Boatman’s Call. No More Shall We Part bleeds passion from track one until the last track calls it a night.
If Nick Cave’s words and voice weren’t enough, the Bad Seeds create some of the most amazing musical blankets you’ll hear, from the terrified piano to the heart swept strings.
“As I Sat Sadly By Her Side” really sets the stage for what is an album of love’s mantra and all that surrounds. It seems Nick Cave has found the promised land and it’s something that only his heart could show him. “Love Letter” only exemplifies the messages.
“Fifteen Of Pure White Snow” is perhaps Nick Cave’s catchiest song. It’s simple and melodic, but the stories are told as well as heard. Nick Cave has aspired to Leonard Cohen cult elitism, and it seems the older he gets, the better he gets. No More Shall We Part is dark, but it’s full of heart.
