Johnny Cash – Solitary Man

Johnny Cash
Artist: Title
Title: Solitary Man
Label: American
Rating: 6.5/10

Country, rock, or whatever, Johnny Cash still possesses one of the most amazing voices in music. Johnny doing covers of modern music mixed with some new creations piqued my curiosity more than anything.

The only track that became a little weird was Tom Petty joining Cash on his own track, “I Won’t Back Down”. Petty hung around to back Cash on Neil Diamond’s “Solitary Man”. The stars really came out as Sheryl Crow sticks it out for three songs, one in which she sings a duet, “Field Of Diamonds”.

The old and mostly unknown “That Lucky Old Sun (Just Rolls Around Heaven All Day)” is the one track that’s closest to a Cash original. The best track is the new Cash song “Before My Town”. He still has it. And that’s why Johnny is and has always been Cash.
