Cam’ron got his start with Mase, rapping around Harlem. Cam was previously a basketball prodigy who was destined for the NBA before his poor grades stopped him from attending college. After that he went from hustling to hip-hop, searching for a living. His first release was more of an underground success. Now he’s shooting for the stars on S.D.E., short for Sports, Drugs, and Entertainment.
Cam tells tales of life, the one he knows. His style is smooth and methodical. He has a knack for hooks. “Whatever” gives you a taste of how slick Cam can be. “Do It Again” is poignant and personal. ODB shines on “Violence”. “Losin Weight” finds Cam and Prodigy of Mobb Deep getting into your soul. Title track “Sports, Drugs, & Entertainment” is the countdown of Cam’s life. It’s a must listen.
