The Good:
You’ll be waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
The Average:
“Poet Laureate II” – Canibus goes on for over seven minutes about LL Cool J. If this is the best venom he has then he’d better go back to the drawing board.
“Genabis” – The beats sound like they’ve come from the church itself. The irony seems thick like pea soup yet the lyrics fail to take over.
“Indisisible” – It’s a shame Canibus can’t rip this track to pieces. The beat and sample is something unlike you ever hear in hip-hop. Canibus keeps its limits incheck instead of blasting it out of the stratosphere.
“Levitibus” – Hindu synth storms through getting more a shove than a push by Canibus.
“M-Sea-Cresy” – It’s all about Canibus and it gets old quick.
The Ugly:
“Psych Evaluation” – Weak rhymes over a dope beat.
Frankly: Canibus brings diverse beats yet his rhyme style never deviates. It’s Canibus rapping about Canibus throughout. With beats that attempt to prove depth Cainbus is actually the weakest link.
Canibus is still trying to make his mark at the feet of LL Cool J. It almost doesn’t seem to be a fair fight as LL lights Canibus up. Even with fat pockets LL can still rip Canibus if this is all he’s got. It’s funny that Canibus is still so focused on LL and yet LL doesn’t lose a wink of sleep over it all. Canibus needs to give it up, the war was won and LL won’t be unseated. He’s a legend and Canibus wants to wear the championship belt and with these releases he won’t ever be so lucky.
