Bryan Adams is back with new album

It’s only been 4 years since we last heard from Bryan Adams? The reason it seems longer is because almost no one remembers he had an album out 4 years ago. Hopefully Adams found his voice and releases an album that he won’t be embarrassed about.

Following his #1 debut atop 3 international charts including the Canadian music chart, mega-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Bryan Adams releases on May 13th, 11 his first original release in four years. In the last month, 11 debuted in the Top Ten of eleven international charts including #1 in Canada, India and Switzerland; at #2 in Austria, Denmark and Germany; #4 in Portugal; #6 in the UK and #8 in Holland. The album will be exclusively sold in Wal-Mart stores and Sam’s Clubs nationwide, and on www.walmart.com in CD and in MP3 format.

The appropriately titled disc, produced by Adams, is his 11th album of all-original music and features 11 songs. Recorded in hotel rooms and backstage concert venues throughout continental Europe during the past two years, the full track listing for 11 is as follows:

The album arrives nearly three decades after Adams’ self-titled 1980 debut and four years after his last studio release, 2004’s Room Service. In between those two discs, the Canadian-born, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide, garnered 21 top ten hits, earned nominations for three Academy Awards and five Golden Globes, received 18 Juno Awards, an American Music Award and five ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards for Most Performed Song from a Motion Picture (his music has appeared on more than 40 movie soundtracks).

Adams has been awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia; he has received an award for “Artist of the Decade” and was recently inducted into the Juno Hall of Fame. He also has a star on Canada’s Walkway of Fame and recently added his handprint to the Wembley Square of Fame in celebration of his 25th show at the famed stadium.

Bryan Adams’ live performances have benefited His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales Prince’s Trust, Live Aid, Live 8, The Concert for Freedom for Nelson Mandela, Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Net Aid, The Canadian Avalanche Foundation and Breast Cancer, as well as campaigns that have saved the rainforests, provided food and comfort for the needy and created whale sanctuaries. Through his own foundation he has also helped build schools in areas of Southeast Asia, devastated by the tsunami in 2004.

Adams is also an acclaimed photographer and recently shot the 2008 ad campaign for Guess. He’s donating his fees from the project to his namesake foundation that funds projects supporting the elderly, victims of wars and natural disasters and other disadvantaged individuals. Bryan’s outstanding live concerts have established him as one of the world’s best rock singers of our time, performing over 120 concerts a year as he works to spread his message of music and environmental awareness to an audience of millions around the globe.
