CORPORATE LINE: The innocent childhood fantasy of the tooth fairy gets a macabre twist in this horror film from director Chuck Bowman and writer/producer Stephen J. Cannell (21 JUMP STREET, HUNTER). Starring PJ Soles (HALLOWEEN) and several actors from FREDDY VS. JASON, THE TOOTH FAIRY begins when a 12-year-old girl named Pamela moves with her family to a bed-and-breakfast. There, she is a greeted by a next-door neighbor who makes it her mission to tell her the true story behind the tooth fairy myth. Could it be that the tooth fairy is actually evil–a wicked creature willing to kill children just to get their teeth?
THE REVIEW: The story line of am evil woman that takes kids teeth and traps their souls is obscure, but what horror flick isn’t obscure? Even when The Tooth Fairy falls of the narrative track it makes up for it with bloody delight. Fans of painting the screen red in blood will dig The Tooth Fairy. This isn’t a movie about storylines nor does it try to be smart. This is a movie about being horrifying and leaves the rest at the door.
THE EXTRAS: The audio commentary with Director Chuck Bowman, Producer/Writer Stephen. J. Cannell and Actor Jesse Hutch is interesting. There are also interviews with the cast and crew and finally the featurette “Hatchet Job: The Making of The Tooth Fairy”.
FRANKLY: The Tooth Fairy isn’t necessarily a movie you should buy. It’s a fun flick to rent if you have friends coming over or you want a girl to collapse in your arms. Otherwise, it’s another bloody horror movie that will disintegrate on the pile of all others in the genre.
