An auteur filmmaker and music artist with shrewd insight and creative vision, Rob Zombie challenges audiences as he stretches the boundaries of film, music and publishing.
After assaulting audiences worldwide with the violent high-octane road classic The Devil’s Rejects, Zombie’s brutal follow-up to his critically acclaimed directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses, Zombie now returns to his first love, music. Hitting stores this March is the album Educated Horses, Zombie’s first album of all new material in almost five years. Zombie explains, “After working almost non-stop for two years on The Devil’s Rejects, I needed a break. So I gathered together the finest band I’ve ever worked with and headed back into the studio.”
From Halloween to Christmas, Zombie, along with longtime Producer Scott Humphrey, locked himself away in the same studio that has birthed the last two Zombie efforts The Sinister Urge and Hellbilly Deluxe. Three months later Zombie emerged with his most sonically diverse album to date. “I really wanted to expand things more than ever,” Zombie relates. ”From the full out metal attack of songs like ‘Let It All Bleed Out’ to the haunting acoustic number ‘Death Of It All’ I think I succeeded.”
And succeed he has, Zombie is the longest active artist on Geffen Records, having been on the label for over 15 years.
Additionally, Rob is the most prolific Geffen Artist when it comes to Gold and Platinum discs – his seven is the most total number by any Geffen artist solely on the merit of their Geffen output.

Zombie is now gearing up for The “Educated Horses Tour.” The tour is scheduled to start March 17th in Jacksonville, Florida and hit 34 cities before concluding eight weeks later in Mesa, Arizona. Joining Rob on this tour will be guitarist John 5 (ex-Marilyn Manson), longtime bassist Blasko and drummer Tommy Clufetos (ex-Alice Cooper & Ted Nugent). Supporting act for the tour will be goth metal band Lacuna Coil.
Educated Horses was produced by Zombie and producer Scott Humphrey (Metallica, Motley Crue). Other musicians contributing to the CD are Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Vandals) and Tommy Lee. The album’s debut single, the anthemic “Foxy Foxy,” will begin play on Modern Rock and Active Rock radio on February 13th.
Zombie, a prolific video director in his own right having directed over twenty five videos, will direct the video for “Foxy Foxy” in Los Angeles in mid-February. Zombie will re-team with The Devil’s Rejects cinematographer Phil Parmet, who also worked on Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains The Same and Frank Zappa’s Baby Snakes.
Zombie has always directed dozens of high profile music videos for himself and his band White Zombie. In 1995 Zombie won an MTV Music Video Award for “More Human Than Human,” becoming the first self-directed artist to win such an award. Zombie has also directed numerous music videos over the years for other artists including most recently Ozzy Osbourne.
Film is never far behind as Zombie is currently working on his next film project an animated film entitled The Haunted World of Superbeasto. Superbeasto is now in production at Film Roman as a feature length animated film and is slated to be released in late 2006.
