BS2000

BS2000 is Beastie Boy Adam Horowitz’s collaboration with Amery “Awol” Smith, a duo breaking beats and delivering smart hip-hop grooves with a lo-fi production. Signed to the Beastie’s own Grand Royal, BS2000 issued the limited edition vinyl in mid-2000, showcasing their infectious use of the SP1200 Drum Machine and their dangerous musical aesthetics. The following year, the full-length Simply Mortified was released to critical acclaim and a joint Japanese tour with Le Tigre followed shortly thereafter.
