“It Feel Like” is really about the only song I could hack from BS2000. I don’t know what kind of music they think they are making, but it’s sure not something I could spend much time listening to.
The odd thing about BS2000 is that their sour sounding keyboard melodies aren’t entirely bad, but when they open their mouths it ruins the whole song. Take “Better Better”. It’s really nothing but a Beastie Boys rip off, and a terrible one at that, so you shouldn’t be surprised that BS2000 is made up of Beastie Boy Adam Horowitz and his new partner in musical crime, Amery “Awol” Smith.
Simply Mortified is another one of those albums that makes you wonder where the line is between being art or being simply good. I don’t find this album to be either. If you like it, good for you, but I’ll stick with music that sounds like music.
