The Dudesons Movie

The Dudesons Movie
Cast: Jukka Hilden
Studio: Rhino
Rating: 6.5/10

THE STORY: Take a daredevil, a showman, a bone breaker, a mastermind, and a 500-lb pig and a sprinkle of anarchy and insanity and…Crash! Bang! Arrgghh!–you have The Dudesons! Four totally loveable, yet totally lunatic characters living life to its fullest in the idyllic surroundings of the Arctic Circle.

The Dudesons are a group of childhood best friends, who over the years have solidified their bond between each other despite all the broken bones, trips to the hospital, and near death experiences! From perilous car and motorcycle jumpers to indoor bonfire, The Dudesons always manage to turn the mundane realities of everyday life into laughter and occasional pain, with the help of special guest appearances by Bam Margera (Viva La Bam) and Steve-O (Jackass). From sunrise to sunset, life holds no limits and there are no rules.

THE REVIEW: Are the Dudesons stuntmen or idiots? Maybe they’re a little bit of both. The four crazy fools from Finland are the precursors to America’s very own bunch of numbskulls—the Jackass crew. The Dudesons inspired Steve-O, Bam, Knoxville, and the rest of the gang. Now that’s something to put on your resume.

You might wonder what there is to do in Finland; well the Dudesons have the answer—hurt yourself and video tape it. The Dudesons movie is a mishmash of crazy stunts and a little background on the boys. Part of the problem is that nothing seems too finished. None of the stunts are shot in their entirety. The movie would have been better off if it were more like the Jackass movies. That way we’d see the entire stunt from beginning to end—instead we cut in and out and listen to the guys talk. No one cares what they have to say—we’re more interested in what ridiculous stunt they are going to pull and if they might live to tell about it.

THE EXTRAS: The commentary by the Dudesons is all in good fun. The guys goof around the entire time and it makes for a more interesting commentary. Also included is a twenty-plus minute of bonus stunts. A featurettes called “Visiting Viva La Bam” where The Dudesons and hangout with Bam. There is also “Mad Mike Jones vs. The Dudesons”.

FRANKLY: The Dudesons Movie is crude, lewd, and funny. No matter how much you try to deny yourself from laughing its impossible. The Dudesons Movie would have been better off if everything had be played out through the entire stunt and yet it’s still impossible to deny the laughs.
