CORPORATE LINE: Hilarious and Addictive! TV’s Scariest Creatures come to DVD. Here come the “Bridezillas” – Season One of the hit series that proves that hell hath no fury like a bride under stress. Follow real-life couples as they prepare to walk down the aisle in eight tension-mounting episodes. But what happens before the “I dos” will have you laughing out loud, gasping in disbelief, and yelling at the screen when wedding flowers aren’t delivered, a limo company doesn’t show, a cake requires an emergency airlift, and a French-imported videographer has a meltdown of his own! The rest is just the icing on the cake!
THE REVIEW: How they knew these woman would turn out to be such train wrecks during their wedding plans and wedding is anyone’s guess. Perhaps they don’t have to figure out who will and won’t explode—the cameras alone may make sure of that. I’ve had experience on many different sides of the wedding insanity and none of the woman involved in these weddings came close to the insanity posed by the woman in either season of Bridezillas.
Perhaps it’s because the people I knew weren’t overly obsessed with the material goods as these spoiled brats. And when the production company interviewed these couples they obviously took the ones with the husbands that take a backseat to their wives. The husbands don’t disappoint as they are often trampled by their crazy wives.
It’s almost impossible to watch these women waste money over the most ridiculous things for their weddings while their husbands shuffle off to work. Its fun to watch goofy people sing like fools on American Idol—it’s painful to watch these woman so wrapped up in themselves pissing away their futures for the present. If this was my wife I’d still be single.
The first season focused on New York metro while the second season went national. The difference is huge. The show actually tries hard to make us feel bad for these brides during the second season as if they are sick with a disease. The only disease I can think of is greed.
THE EXTRAS:
SEASON ONE:
“Real Brides Cake Dive Event” – This is all of a minute and a half.
SEASON TWO:
There are fifteen minutes of extra scenes.
FRANKLY: Bridezillas shows everything that is wrong with marriage. This show would have you believe that weddings are about money and making the bride happy. Any guy that is engaged better steer clear of this show. The second season is like a neutered dog with its annoying attempt at sympathizing with the brides. There is no sympathy for these witches. Bridezillas is trash TV at its worst.
