Mr. Deeds

Mr. Deeds
Cast: Adam Sandler
Studio: Columbia
Rating: 4/10

Film Studio synopsis: In this homage to the 1936 Frank Capra classic MR. DEEDS GOES TO TOWN, Adam Sandler plays Mr. Deeds, a young man from the small town of Mandrake Falls, NH who inherits controlling interest in a massive media corporation from his deceased uncle. He then starts injecting his small town values into its various businesses.

The Good: Crazy Eyes, otherwise known as Steve Buscami and the stealth butler played by John Turturro.

The Bad: The entire movie aside from the good. This movie is a comedy but isn’t funny. At least Sandler doesn’t do that annoying baby voice here, however he does play the dumb ass that has a big heart and wants to make the world a better place. Sure that’s all well and good, but not when Adam Sandler is doing it. And can someone tell me why each of his movies has him doing some pep talk at the end like he’s Vince Lombardi? The worst part about Mr. Deeds is the fact that its main character, Sandler, is the least funny.

Frankly: Don’t waste your time.
