Monsters, Inc.

Monsters, Inc.
Cast: Billy Crystal
Studio: Walt Disney
Rating: 8.5/10

Monsters, Inc. could be about the boogeyman children fear as they close their eyes or the little bed bugs that nip at their toes while they dream of better things. Somewhere in between is really where Monsters, Inc. falls as Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal), a one-eyed green goober, and partner Sulley Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman), a big blue ball of fur, have a plan to scare the kiddies. That is until a little girl figures it out and the rest becomes the things really good movies are made of.

It’s in the world of Monstropolis where these little buggers go about their lives. Through the streets filled with monsters of all shapes and sizes you arrive at the doorstep of Monsters, Inc., a company whose sole purpose is to scare the heck out of kids.

There is something insanely beautiful about everything Pixar does. It’s a realism that disturbs you with its realistic nature while placing your eyes in awe as you realize this really isn’t truly real. Pixar is a house of magic and amazing skill. If the Toy Story movies didn’t prove this, Monsters, Inc. will bring the conclusion.

Even better is the snappy wit that even when it goes over a child’s head still keeps them entertained. Adults will enjoy this as much as their pint-sized partners. Monsters, Inc. almost measures up to Toy Story 2 and that is an amazing feat in itself.
