Wildfire: The Complete First Season

Wildfire
Cast: Genevieve Cortese, Nicole Tubiola, Nana Visitor, Greg Serano, Micah Alberti
Studio: Lions Gate
Rating: 7/10

CORPORATE LINE: Kris Furillo (Genevieve Cortese) has come a long way from juvenile hall. Hired to work at Raintree Horse Farm, she enters the world of high-stakes horse racing, where people will stop at nothing to beat the competition. She works for the Ritters, a once-powerful family that has fallen on hard times. The only thing Kris and the Ritters have in common is that they have both fallen on hard times.

Their greatest hope is a horse named Wildfire. Like Kris, he comes from the wrong side of the tracks and was written off as “no good”. To Kris, Wildfire is much more than a horse with potential, he’s her best friend. One thing is certain…together they can do the impossible. But nobody said it was going to be easy.

From irresistible romances, unexpected friendships, and shocking betrayals, to first loves, last laughs, and close calls, Kris’ new life is nothing as she had imagined.

THE REVIEW: Wildfire is dramatic and family friendly. That’s a rare show today—especially a teen drama. The show demographic is teens who were into 7th Heaven. A lot of people put down 7th Heaven for being charming but it wasn’t long ago that most of the teen shows were charming—not raunchy.

Wildfire does a great job bringing viewers along for the ride. There are numerous subplots that keep your attention and each episode links the next and continues the narrative throughout. It’s not easy to watch one episode because you’ll want to watch the entire season in one sitting.

There is a great cast and they are perfect at bringing out the charm in the script. Most of the storylines aren’t corny or contrived.

THE EXTRAS:
“The Horses of WILDFIRE” – An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the amazing horses featured in the series and how these animal actors are able to strut their stuff!

“Creating Raintree Ranch” – Learn about the incredible construction of the Raintree Ranch and the great work of the “Wildfire” production design team!

There are six commentaries included with the cast and producers. The deleted scenes aren’t overly interesting.

FRANKLY: Wildfire is a wonderfully charming teen drama.
