CORPORATE LINE: A science fiction extravaganza with a religious message, THE VISITATION has an all-star cast that includes Randy Travis, Edward Furlong, and Kelly Lynch. When a mysterious stranger arrives in the town of Antioch, residents are divided as to his true identity, but when supernatural events occur at a revival, one former pastor must acknowledge his history and reveal the truth about the visitor.
THE REVIEW: The Visitation is based on the Frank Peretti novel. This is one of the loosest adaptations of a book made into a film in a long time. Either Peretti didn’t care about the movie or didn’t have any say in the film. You’d think the author would want his book to be justly represented.
FRANKLY: The Visitation is a B-movie. There is nothing worth watching unless you want to see how poorly the book is represented in film.
