The Brian Setzer Orchestra gives some style to Christmas.
Cool:
“Santa Claus Is Back In Town” – Although Setzer’s vocals occasionally make you cringe you feel like he nailed this one.
Luke-Warm:
“Jingle Bells” – Starts off with a bang, but when Setzer takes a vocal trip off on a bad tangent it drops down a few notches.
“Boogie Woogie Santa Claus” and “The Man With The Bag” – These tracks should have fit the BSO like a glove, but Setzer takes the vocals too far.
Bad:
“Blue Christmas” – Elvis is rolling over somewhere. Setzer’s vocals are horrible.
“Baby It’s Cold Outside – This is Ann-Margaret? Who could tell? This track is terrible.
The problem is that Brian Setzer sings the songs so rough and raw that its not interesting for a Christmas set.
