The Fast And The Furious

The Fast And The Furious
Cast: Vin Diesel
Studio: Universal
Rating: 6/10

The Fast And The Furious is as the name suggests, at least partly. Vin Diesel is back and surprisingly good in his role as the badass street racer. FATF is eye candy, period. There is no real worthy plot, nothing that is going to find it nominated for awards, but none of that even matters.

First off, Vin Diesel kicks ass and saves this film. He’s a perfect pawn for director Rob Cohen’s tale of street racing. It may not be this pretty in real life, but that is what movie making is all about. Correct? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Even though FATF doesn’t really fly that high and there are tons of weak lines, it’s entertaining to say the least.

You don’t need to be a car guy, though I will admit being a man does help, to enjoy this. The best points in the film are the action. The worst are the dialogue. You can’t tell me that in this underground world everyone talks smack with barely a swear word. I’m not saying uttering four letter words all the time would have made this a better film, but it would have made it more credible. Fast And The Furious lives up to its name.
