Studio: BMG
Rating: 7.5/10

CORPORATE LINE: Referred to as “a stylistic breakthrough” by USA Today, “cutting edge comedy” by The Hollywood Reporter and “original and funny” by The New York Times, this landmark television series from 1991 comes to DVD for the first time.

Thirteen-year-old Marshall Teller has just been uprooted from his beloved home in New Jersey to Eerie, Indiana which seems at first to be the most normal place in the world, but Marshall soon discovers that there’s more to Eerie than meets the eye. Underneath the illusion of normality, Eerie is swarming with weird stuff; women who seal themselves in giant Tupperware, werewolves, even Elvis who lives on Marshall’s paper route! The only person that believes him is his new friend, ten-year-old Simon Holmes. Together they decide to investigate Eerie’s weirdness and keep record of it in hopes to one day show the world.

For the first time on DVD, follow Marshall and Simon through 19 episodes of weirdness and incredible adventure.

THE SHOW: I wasn’t that old when this show came out originally and I remember it fondly and wondered whatever happened to it. Then Goosebumps came along but never quite replaced the witty humor of Eerie Indiana.

The show isn’t gory. It’s sort of like the Twilight Zone for kids—but not really young kids. Teens would like this—but adults can watch, too.

There is a bonus fun factor as you try to spot the future stars: Tobey Maguire, Nikki Cox, Denise Richards, and more.

FRANKLY: The opening statement to the show says it all: “Ever since moving here, I’ve been convinced that something is very wrong with Eerie, Indiana. I tried telling myself there was a logical explanation for everything, but logic doesn’t apply here.” -Marshall Teller

Logic doesn’t explain why the show was canceled in its first year. Today, teen shows dominate channels like Fox and the WB and its not hard to image Eerie, Indiana being a hit all over again!
