CORPORATE LINE: A professional male escort, Deuce Bigalow (Rob Schneider) takes on Europe in this comic sequel to 1999’s DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO. This time around, he really needs the money, as he must bail out a pimp (Eddie Griffin) who stands accused of murdering some Dutch prostitutes.
THE FILM: The original Deuce Bigalow had heart. This time around there is no heart—it’s all about trying to gross viewers out. That only goes so far. Sure there a few laughs but they often feel forced.
The plot is just plain bad. The biggest issue is that Deuce Bigalow goes from having sex with all sorts of odd women in the first movie to becoming little more than a male escort.
The funniest part of the original was that Deuce had to have sex with some very scary women. On top of it all, each scene tries its hardest to up the anti and out gross the previous scene. It’s as if Deuce stumbled into the circus sideshow and had to take all the freaks out on dates.
FRANKLY: Rob Schneider is funnier than this. If this was the first movie you saw Schneider in you wouldn’t be impressed. European Gigalo isn’t very funny.
