Dragonfly is a supernatural thriller about a man (Kevin Costner) who believes that his deceased wife (Susanna Thompson) is trying to communicate with him through the near-death experiences of her child patients.
Costner has had his choice of bad films, but Dragonfly seems to top them all. The film tries to portray mystical and scary scenes. Unfortunately it doesn’t do either. There are the obvious tricks to try and make us jump out of our seats like birds flying out of nowhere and so on. It all streams slowly into an ending that finds you wondering why the hell they didn’t start this about an hour sooner. Perhaps the film could have been watchable.
