CORPORATE LINE: Injured in a basketball game, hospitalized, and in traction, Matt is horrified to witness the strange metamorphosis occurring right before his eyes. The hospital’s candy stripers–sweet, young, and nubile all–are seducing men only to leave them encased in a horrible gel-like substance. When Matt realizes the women have been inhabited by aliens intent on breeding, he knows he has to escape–but how? This erotic horror film stars Playboy Playmates Deanna Brook and Serria Tawan.
THE REVIEW: Having Playboy Playmates act in a movie is a double-edged sword—you get sexy girls but plenty of bad acting. The Playmates aren’t the only bad thing about Candy Stripers. The movie looks bad and that is barely the beginning. The dialogue is impossible to deal with—to the point that it offers very few laughs.
THE EXTRAS: A few trailers that shouldn’t qualify as “extras.”
FRANKLY: Candy Stripers doesn’t try to be anything it isn’t—meaning the movie isn’t good and it never tries to be. This is a movie that sells sex and blood—it’s almost successful in that endeavor.
