Half Man…half vampire, and consumed by a desire to avenge the curse of his birth and save the human race from a blood-drenched Armageddon. Blade is forced to team up with the very vampires he hates in order to overcome a new type of monster which threatens to eradicate both races.
Blade (Wesley Snipes) is at his tormented best as he comes upon a whole new disgusting bunch of vampires that have all sorts of odd and disturbing characteristics. Director Guillermo del Toro does a great job. The action sequences are fantastic. When Blade swirls to destroy a baddie the camera follows in an action packed sequence. The film feels more full, more action packed and truly out of a comic book.
Blade II seems to explore more into the psyche of our hero caught between flesh and hell. Wesley Snipes might not be the best action hero in the world, but as Blade he does fill a huge void.
