Boy Meets World: The Complete First Season
Cast: Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle

Rating: 7.5/10

CORPORATE LINE: Go back to the beginning with Cory, Topanga, Shawn, and all your favorite characters in BOY MEETS WORLD’s hilarious first season. With the help of his family and his teacher, Mr. Feeny, Cory (Ben Savage) explores life, relationships, and the strange, wild world of sixth grade. Relive the laughs and excitement of all 22 original episodes, including the series pilot. In addition, enjoy an exclusive bonus episode and all-new audio commentary with the cast and crew. It’s all the classic moments you remember … and more.

THE SHOW: Boy Meets World was cute show that filled the TGIF lineup on ABC and ended up becoming one of the lineups most popular shows. It’s a refreshing show that is good, clean family fun. Best of all the show never seemed preachy, never talked down to its audience, and felt genuine—something that is missing on television today.

The first season introduces Cory (Ben Savage) and all the dilemmas that come with being a young boy; love, life, and, of course, homework. The show itself has a fantastic cast with the dopey brother Eric (Will Friedle) to the always wonderful neighbor/teacher Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) to the love interest Topanga (Danielle Fishel). One of the better aspects of the show are the parents, who seem like real parents and not like those overly dramatic and overly done Hollywood parents that we are used to.

DVD FEATURES: “See How They’ve Grown,” and audio commentaries with cast and crew. Quite light on the features.

FRANKLY: Everyone argues about what season is the best of their favorite television shows, however there is something wonderful about the innocence of the first season of Boy Meets World. Season One is a must for anyone that loves a great family sitcom.
