Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete Fourth Season DVD

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete Fourth Season DVD
Cast: Sarah michelle gellar
Studio: Fox
Rating: 7/10

The Film Studio Says: Buffy begins college feeling completely overwhelmed. But once the monsters show up, it’s just like old times. Then she starts dating Riley, a handsome commando battling the same monsters. He’s part of a secret organization called The Initiative and Buffy is all too happy to join the team. But she soon suspects The Initiative may be more dangerous than the monsters they are supposed to be battling.

The Show: The fourth season offered changes to Sunnydale and our characters as they move into the new university dorms. There is some points that lose their spontaneity but its not all bad – well except for Adam the Frankenstein monster.

What the show lacks in bad guys it makes up for in spirit. You can’t help but laugh at episodes like “Living Conditions” and “Something Blue”. My favorite is the Halloween episode “Fear, Itself”.

The Extras:
o Commentary by Joss Whedon on ‘Hush’ and ‘Restless’
o Commentary by Joss Whedon, Marti Noxon, and Seth Greenon on ‘Wild at Heart’
o Commentary by writer Doug Petrie on ‘The Initiative’ and ‘This Year’s Girl’
o Commentary by Jane Espenson on ‘Superstar’
o 22 episodes on six discs: The Freshman, Living Conditions, The Harsh Light of Day, Fear Itself, Beer Bad, Wild at Heart, The Initiative, Pangs, Something Blue, Hush, Doomed, A New Man, The I in Team, Goodbye Iowa, This Year’s Girl, Who Are You?, Superstar, Where the Wild Things Are, New Moon Rising, The Yoko Factor, Primeval, Restless
o Season 4 Overview
o Featurettes: Hush, Spike Me, Oz Revelations: A Full Moon, Buffy Inside the Music, The Sets of Sunnydale
o Original scripts for ‘Fear Itself,’ ‘Hush,’ ‘Who Are You?,’ and ‘Restless’
o Cast bios
o Still gallery
o Full-screen format

Frankly: There are some good and some bad. I couldn’t stand the Adam and the Initiative storyline – but they get you back with the good episodes. It’s a balancing act.
