Game Company’s Description: Long before the Galactic Civil War, an epic drama begins.
Engage in this saga set in the Golden Age of the Republic – over 4,000 years before the first Star Wars film, when both Jedi and Sith number in the thousands. With the Galaxy reeling from a recent conflict with the Dark Lords, the ongoing battle between the Jedi and the Sith rages on. Your actions determine the outcome of this colossal galactic war – and your destiny as a Jedi.
Look: You get the feeling of being in the game. There is a certain grace about the fight sequences from the films yet have just been realized in Star Wars games until recently. It might be hard to get a grasp of the detail Knights until you actually watch someone playing it. Then you notice just how much time and effort was put into the mix. Take the sewers of Taris. These feel as scary as you’d expect. You get that uneasy feeling in your belly.
The characters aren’t as tight as the backgrounds and effects. Many seemed to be similarly modeled instead of giving you more diversity. There are some fantastically modeled characters such as the slimy aliens and sith with his shiny armor.
Feel: They have kept with the Star Wars saga yet created their own storyline that works fantastically well. What is most exciting about the game is how in charge of your character you truly are. You can choose to be either good or bad. Wow. You can’t say you’ve never thought about being on the dark side. Here you have your chance.
I’ve never been big into roll play games but this seems to be the exception to the rule. It works quite well and never takes away from the game. There is fighting, solving puzzles and taking the time to figure out what your next step will be. Best of all are the additional quests that you can take on adding much replay value to this game.
Hear: Good voices and of course the John Williams score. But you’ll enjoy the voice over possibly more than any game you’ve played. The alien talk is fantastic.
Frankly: The best roll play game out there hands down.
