Game: Summoner
Platform: PS2
Studio: THQ
Rating: 7.5/10

Summoner is out to change your mind about role-play games, both in look and feel.

Look:
Summoner impressed me. If these are the first games on this system, I cant wait until six months from now when game companies have had a chance to use every ounce of the PS2s power.

The 3D development in this game is fantastic, yet the characters arent as smooth. There are things about the game that will bug the diehard gamers, but those who play for fun will be blown out of the water by the upgrade.

Feel:
The first thing I noticed is all the text you must read in this game. Although it is often entertaining, if I wanted to read a novel, Id spend more time at the library.

The best thing about the gameplay is your ability to switch between players who will allow you the best offense and defense in a certain situation. The game offers instances where youll have to think of the best way to move forward, and this entails different characters with different abilities. Cool.

Hear:
The score is pretty good. Honestly, I only noticed it when I was listening for it. I did hear the sound effects of the weapons and they didnt really make the game any better or worse.

Finally:
Summoner is long, maybe too long. I know that sounds silly, but I often found myself bored by the length. If you have the will to stick with it, you’ll love this game. If you want to finish a game in record time, you’re better off starting another game.
