GAME STUDIO DESCRIPTION: In Perimeter you are thrust into a detailed science fiction world that combines innovative warfare and terraforming capabilities. In this real-time strategy game you’ll seize territory as a member of the Exodus civilization, humans who abandoned a dying Earth long ago. To survive you must conquer and colonize lands, form protective perimeters and use powerful nanotechnologies to create modifiable combat units that can be organized into squads and transformed right on the battlefield.
GRAPHICS: Perimeter is visually impressive. A lot was put into the environments and can watch your land grow in an amazing display. The overall problem is how much the game lags. Our system isn’t exactly a slouch and yet we ran into problems.
CONTROLS: Want something different? Perimeter isn’t the usual RTS game. Environments morph and you must turn the land around you to zero-level so that you can utilize its power. Zero-level is necessary to maintain energy and it is vital that it is protected. Not only are you playing offense but a lot of defense.
The armies are limited to 250 total units which can be divided into squads. You must utilize different soldiers’ strengths. What is amazing is how you can nanomorph ground troops into underground troops. This adds another dimension to adapting to your surroundings.
SOUND: The sound is quite good. The voice acting is well done. The setting is futuristic and the sound doesn’t disappoint.
FRANKLY: One of the major problems is the lack of a serious tutorial. Perimeter is extremely complex even for the veteran RTS players. There is some serious work to be done for gamers who want to tackle this so it can’t be said that you don’t get your money’s worth.
