NCAA Football 2003
Game: NCAA Football 2003
Platform: PS2
Studio: EA
Rating: 9/10

Look: Wow. The stadiums are incredible, the cheerleaders are amazing and the player models have been taken up a notch from last year’s version.

The field is amazing right down to the college logo and grass.

The player models look real. Take a step back from the television and you just might think you are watching a game on TV. They look more polished and add a lot of enjoyment to the game. The player animations have also been upgraded.

Feel: Well you get a lot more control and realism. Finally there are turnovers that count. You have to really watch out to make sure you don’t toss an interception since its more likely in this version, a good thing. If you think you’re just going to toss it up and come down with it then you might as well toss a coin because the odds are about as good, which is closer to reality in the college game.

The offense works great from the difficulty to run under pressure and to the outside. The wide receivers run better routes and give you a chance to move the yard sticks.

The defense is more fun this year. The swim move actually works, but now you can’t just count on a sack or two a game. You’ve got to work for it.

Hear: The crowd is into it, which is what you’d expect from a college game. The commentary has taken a huge upgrade and is by far the least annoying of all sports games to date. The fight songs are there. This is great.

Frankly: If you love football run to your store and buy this.
