GAME STUDIO DESCRIPTION: Defy gravity and stretch the world of arcade footbal to the skies with NFL Street 2: Unleashed. NFL players are free from their real-world constraints to dominate the streets one stylin’ move and one field at a time. Raise your game to the limits with up-the-wall passes, off-the-wall catches, and highlight-reel wall jukes that are sure to solidify your place as football’s greatest urban legend. With New Exclusive STREET Events, head-to-head wireless gameplay, NFL superstars and legends playing both sides of the ball, and new PSP-specific content, the time to own the streets is NOW.
PLAY: Seven-on-seven means this isn’t your run-of-the-mill football game—but you know that already. The PSP version has a few different modes; quick, pickup game (where you pick your team players), mini-games, Own the City (take on the neighborhood, and NFL Challenge.
The game puts too much emphasis on running. All the bonuses depend upon running and it puts a damper on going for the Hail Mary. At first the bonuses seem like a good idea—especially when you are running the ball—however when on defense the wall becomes just another impossible barrier to stopping your opponent.
GRAPHICS: The graphics looking surprisingly well on the PSP. This is one game where it is most closely related to the console version.
SOUND: A very good soundtrack that mixes well with fantastic grunts and groans.
FRANKLY: For all the positives there are some negatives: It takes quite a while to load and a lack of new players really hurts. On the positive side, gameplay is still addictive and if your friend has a PSP NFL Street 2 Unleashed is all the sweeter.
