PLAY: There is as much to love as to dislike about Marvel Nemesis. There is some great battles too bad most of the fights are mindless button pushing. There is a story—which you will appreciate however its not really one that gets you deeply involved in the clash.

You will play the usual monsters until you must face the boss at the end. The bosses are tough but the real issue is what is missing. Many of the aliens you face are uninterested and don’t prove to be much of a match or even fun. One reason Marvel Nemesis is as fun as because of the controls. There are well thought-out and extremely intuitive. It doesn’t take long for you to get a handle on what you are doing and get right into the fight.

You can go at it solo and work your way through the game as it gets harder and harder. There are some issues with the camera. On occasion the enemy will end up off-screen and you are fighting the edge of the screen hoping that you won’t get killed. On top of that someone might come off the edge of the screen and attack. That’s not fighting fair.

Another issue is that there are too many things that can be used against you. It seems almost everything can be used in the game as a weapon. Little things can get picked up and cause major damage. Not only that but it seems like you can step on an explosive just about anywhere.

GRAPHICS: The character animation is fantastic. There is an element of speed in the characters and ability. The best way to describe it is the characters look and react the way you’d expect in a cartoon or comic book. They look great and the attacks are well animated. The environments however leave a lot to be desired.

SOUND: The sound effects are good. Nothing is really going to blow your mind. You get the usual smashing, punching, and zaps that you’d expect from a game.

FRANKLY: Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects is fun for fans of the genre. Those who could care less might not find this nearly as interesting. It’s much better as a multiplayer. Honestly, it’s a good game but falls somewhere in between a rental and purchase.
