PLAY: This time around Midway has released an arcade treasures with a bundle of old-school racing games. There are some great additions and some that you may not find yourself going back to play.

San Francisco Rush 2049 is the best game on this compilation by far. For the compilation the developers made a much better game for this release. It’s fast, wild, and really a heck of a lot of fun. You can now unlock new tracks as you blast through the circuit. There is also a new multiplayer battle mode that is a lot of fun.
Off Road Thunder is decent fun—but the graphics are pretty rough. Hydro Thunder comes from the Dreamcast and plays single and two players. It’s not deep but again—the continuing theme is how much fun the games are. Super Off-Road brings it all off the street. You can see a lot of this games influence in the many games that have been released on the PS2 and Xbox in the last few years.

GRAPHICS: Most of the games look dated—and that is the idea. For some, including me, it’s hard to go and play a game like this when you have so many amazing games to look at today.

SOUND: Weak.

FRANKLY: There is a small segment of the population that likes to play purely for nostalgia. That is fun for a short period but you will get bored with the lack of depth and the barebones graphics of six plus years ago.
