GAME STUDIO DESCRIPTION: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater introduces new depth and thrilling gameplay. It’s a new level of gaming, with all the detailed levels, thrilling gameplay and stunning plot twists players crave. Set in the 1960s, you become a legendary soldier sent to uncover the secret behind Metal Gear, a top-secret superweapon with nuclear capability. You are all alone in hostile territory — but you will complete this mission, to secure the continued existence of human life.

Use camouflage wisely to survive deep in hostile territory
Infiltrate and survive by paying attention to your hunting skills and instinct.

Use the interactive environments to your advantage — creating traps to catch enemies and prey.

Features a blockbuster musical score composed by Harry Gregson-Williams.

PLAY: This version of Metal Gear Solid is more open than the previous releases. The best aspect is that there is no radar. There are some new additions—you have a percentage that tells you how likely it is that you will be detected by the enemy. You can also dress in certainly camouflage in order to try and remain undetected.

Another addition is the stamina meter. You have to eat in order to maintain your strength and that adds a depth that wasn’t in the previous releases. Eating doesn’t mean you can recover from being hurt—only your stamina is affected. You will eat animals that you find and if you don’t then you won’t be a very good killer.

The bosses are the best yet. And if you don’t know how to destroy them you can make a call on codec to get advice on what it will take to accomplish your mission.

There is a great aspect to MGS that often goes unnoticed–using the environments to your advantage. Not just for stealth, but also to defeat your enemies. You can shoot or knock down a bee hive so that the guys in your path will leave.

GRAPHICS: It doesn’t get much better than this. Rare is the game that looks better than Snake Eater. MGS 3 is astonishing. Every little detail is highlighted. There are so many intricate aspects used in the environment—if you miss them you might make life a lot harder. The characters are modeled brilliantly. The entire game is gorgeous.

SOUND: The voice acting is much like the graphics: nearly perfect. The sound effects are brilliant and if you have your television hooked up to a stereo kick it up and enjoy all of Dolby ProLogic II.

FRANKLY: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is a must for Christmas presents everywhere. This will be the stock stuffer of the year so get it on your list!
