GAME DESCRIPTION: Now you can play classic arcade games anywhere, anytime with Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play for the Sony PSP Entertainment System. Enjoy the coin-op masterpieces of the past for the first time on a portable system with multiplayer wireless support!Single Player:Spy Hunter, Sinistar, Defender, Paperboy and 720.Multiplayer Wireless:Klax, Joust, Marble Madness, Toobin’, Rampage – 3 player, Gauntlet – 4 player, Rampart – 3 player, Wizard of Wor, Xybots, Championship Sprint, Arch Rivals, Cyberball 2072, Xenophobe – 3 player, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Mortal Kombat 3.
PLAY/GRAPHICS: As elementary as most of these games are you’d think they’d play perfectly on the PSP. For the most part there are no issues. Some games like Joust are made to fit to the wide screen which looks distorted. Another issue is a game like Sinistar that shows up in only part of the screen. If they had no other option perhaps it would have been better to just leave the game off. Mortal Kombat 2 and Mortal Kombat 3 have many issues. Nothing flows correctly from the music to the action.
SOUND: As easy as it would seem to replicate most of these games sound awful.
FRANKLY: Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play leaves a lot to be desired. As cool as these collections sound when you look at them at a purely nostalgic point they never live up to what we thought of them in the past.
