PLAY: MVP Baseball plays very well. You can put the game in and begin playing right away with very little learning curve—even if you haven’t played before. Pitching and batting are set up very intuitively—although those who liked the Hitter’s Eye feature in the console version won’t find it here.
Unfortunately there is no franchise mode but there is a season mode. If you want to play a franchise like the Kansas City Royals but know their roster isn’t very good you can change it up and even add a player you create. So don’t fear, even your bad baseball team can win it all.

GRAPHICS: The close-up shots of the players are very good—perhaps some of the best yet on the PSP. One of the biggest problems is the same as those found on FIFA—the animations cause issues with actual gameplay. When you go from one animation to another there is a pause that can disturb running and other motions. An easy pop-up can turn into a dropped ball because of the pause. There are also moments when the cutscene will pop up before a play is even finished. These are major issues with gameplay itself.

SOUND: Very good commentary and crowd noise.

FRANKLY: MVP Baseball is very similar to the console version with a few changes. One of the biggest issues is the graphics and glitches that interrupt gameplay. Another problem is the lack of head-to-head play. Overall this is going to keep you busy for a long time.
