• State-of-the-art 3D Engine: Simultaneously control and command legions of military units onscreen. Feel the full might of medieval warfare with stunning 3D visuals that push the vanguard of today’s hardware to its limit.

Look: The graphics aren’t great. The camera is out of whack and is rarely in the correct position. Half the time you aren’t sure who is coming from where or where to go next. It’s such a pity that the game doesn’t live up to the corporate line; “stunning 3D visuals.”

Feel: The most annoying aspect of Joan Of Arc is the apparent inability to move around invisible things. There are obstacles that can’t be jumped over that shouldn’t be a problem–It’s nonsensical. The AI is terrible; when you are outnumbered 2-1 you still single-handedly take on an army all by Joan-some.

The best battles are the large ones. You can hire local people to join your fight and take on the bad guys straight out of Braveheart. If only it were a little more realistic and the enemies tried to fight harder.

Frankly: With a lack of depth and camera issues there isn’t an incentive to get through the entire game. The idea is great; actually it was the entire time period and character that interested me in the first place. To bad a lot of excitement went out the window.
