PLAY: Based upon the film Fight Club this 3D fighter isn’t close to being as interesting as the movie. The game goes after the fighting and ignores all of the rest of the plot that made the movie interesting. It’s unforgivable how Fight Club the game takes a few characters from the movie while ignoring the look of Jack and Tyler. Instead they are merely regular guys who mix in with the crowd.
The fighting is nothing special. You start with 10 characters and then must unlock a few more. Honestly, there is almost nothing interesting about any of these characters. There are a few styles to choose from: brawler, grappler, and kung-fu. It’s really nothing more however than a rock ‘em sock ‘em punch fest. The styles are literally interchangeable. The fighting, which is at the core of the game, is terrible. So you can break someone’s arm or leg—it’s almost torture just trying to play.
GRAPHICS: The characters are completely generic. The backgrounds allow for interaction where you can pick up things and also find secret levels. There is little depth or care taken to make it at all appealing.
SOUND: The soundtrack is good only because they used the original score by the Dust Brothers. The voice acting is a mess. It’s unbelievable how bad every aspect was given no time or thought.
FRANKLY: Fight Club is a mess. It’s sad that they wanted to associate this with a great movie and then didn’t do anything to make a great game.
